We collect personal information necessary to provide and improve our services, including but not limited to:  

  • Full name, address, phone number, and email address. 
  • Billing details and payment information. 
  • Alarm system activity data, video footage (if applicable), and monitoring logs. 
  • Website usage data including IP addresses, browser types, and cookies. 
  • Customer support communications and service requests.

  • Direct interactions (e.g., account registration, service inquiries).

  • Deliver products and services.  
  • Process transactions and manage accounts.

  • To monitor for security threats including signal interference, jamming attempts, or unauthorised access.


1.5 Disclosure of Information

  • Regulatory authorities when required by law.  
  • Law enforcement under lawful requests.  
  • Marketing agencies, only with your explicit consent.
  • We may share suspected criminal activity data (e.g. attempted signal jamming or system tampering) with law enforcement or relevant third parties to assist in investigations.


1.6 Data Security Measures  

Safety Guard employs:  

  • Encryption protocols (AES-256 standard).  
  • Regular cybersecurity audits.  
  • Multi-factor authentication for account access.  
  • Secure storage facilities complying with Australian data protection laws.  


1.7 Access and Correction  

You have the right to request access or corrections to your information. Requests are processed within 14 business days.  


1.8 Complaints Procedure  

Privacy complaints will be acknowledged within 48 hours and resolved within 10 business days. For unresolved issues, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).  

 

2. Terms and Conditions  

2.1 Acceptance of Terms  

By accessing our website, purchasing our products, or using our services, you agree to these terms and conditions. Non-acceptance requires immediate cessation of use.  


2.2 Products and Services  

  • Safety Guard products comply with AS/NZS Australian Standards.  
  • Product descriptions and images are for illustrative purposes; actual items may vary.  
  • We reserve the right to update product specifications without notice.  


2.3 Membership and Subscription Services  

  • Memberships auto-renew unless cancelled with 30 days’ written notice.  
  • Membership benefits are valid only when payments are current.  
  • Price adjustments will be communicated 60 days prior to renewal.  


2.4 Payment Terms  

  • Full payment is required before service commencement.  
  • Overdue accounts accrue a 2% monthly interest.  
  • Accounts overdue beyond 30 days may result in service suspension.  


2.5 Liability and Disclaimers  

  • Safety Guard is not liable for indirect or consequential damages.  
  • Liability is capped at the amount paid for the product or service in dispute.  
  • No responsibility is taken for third-party service disruptions. 
  • Security systems reduce risk but cannot prevent all incidents.
  • While Safety Guard systems include anti-jamming and interference detection where supported, no system is immune to advanced criminal techniques such as radio frequency jammers, power interference, or internet disruptions.
  • Customers are responsible for maintaining backup power (e.g. UPS) and ensuring the premises have adequate mobile or internet signal coverage.
  • Safety Guard will not be held liable for failure of alarm systems or data transmissions due to criminal use of interference devices or conditions outside our control.

 

2.6 Governing Law  

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Disputes shall be resolved through Queensland courts.  



3. Refund Policy  

3.1 Change of Mind  

  • Refunds accepted within 14 days for unopened items. 
  • Installation, service fees, and custom orders are non-refundable.  


3.2 Faulty Products  

  • Notify us within 30 days of purchase with proof. 
  • Valid claims will result in repair, replacement, or refund per Australian Consumer Law (ACL).  


3.3 Service Cancellations  

  • Cancellations require 14 days’ written notice. 
  • No refunds for partially used services or memberships. 
  • Late cancellations within 48 hours of scheduled appointments incur a $75 fee.  



4. Warranty Information  

4.1 Warranty Coverage  

  • 12-month warranty covering manufacturing defects and workmanship. 
  • Extended coverage for active Safety Guard Essential Membership holders.  


4.2 Exclusions  

Warranty does not cover:  

  • Misuse, neglect, or improper installation. 
  • Environmental damage (fire, flood, electrical surges). 
  • Cosmetic damage not affecting functionality. 
  • Modifications or repairs not authorised by Safety Guard.  


4.3 Claim Process

  • Claims acknowledged within 48 hours and resolved within 7 business days.  


4.4 Governing Law  

Warranty terms comply with the Australian Consumer Law. Consumers retain all statutory rights.  



5. Product Safety Information  

5.1 Installation and Usage Guidelines  

  • Installations must be carried out by licensed professionals. 
  • Follow product manuals and safety instructions. 
  • Do not expose products to conditions outside their operating range.  


5.2 Emergency Procedures  

  • False alarms may incur penalties under local laws. 
  • Keep contact information up-to-date to avoid response delays. 
  • Ensure routine system tests are performed.  


5.3 Compliance  

  • All products comply with AS/NZS safety standards. 
  • Customers are responsible for compliance with local council regulations regarding alarm systems.  


5.4 Signal Jamming and Interference Risks

  • Our systems may include safeguards such as signal supervision, tamper alerts, and cellular redundancy; however, no alarm system is immune to malicious attempts at disruption using jammers, RF blockers, or signal suppressors.
  • We recommend clients install optional anti-jamming modules and keep system firmware up to date.
  • Any loss or damage resulting from sophisticated jamming technologies is excluded from our liability.
  • Customers must notify Safety Guard immediately if they suspect tampering or signal interference.



6. Disclaimers and Liability Limitations  

  • No security system guarantees prevention of all incidents. 
  • Safety Guard is not liable for loss or damage due to misuse, neglect, or unauthorised modifications. 
  • Services may depend on third-party providers; we are not responsible for their failures. 
  • Data from monitoring is stored securely; however, no system is 100% immune to breaches. 
  • All policies are subject to review and amendment with 30 days’ written notice.
  • Jamming, interference, or cyber-attacks fall outside the scope of our guaranteed services. These are considered force majeure or criminal acts, and we disclaim liability for resulting losses. 
  • Clients are encouraged to maintain backup communication channels (e.g., dual SIM, broadband + mobile failover).

Safety Guard Subscription Policy

1. Overview

The Safety Guard Membership Plan provides premium benefits to subscribers, ensuring their security system is maintained with priority support, free battery replacements, and exclusive discounts. By subscribing, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy.


2. Membership Benefits

Subscribers to the Safety Guard Membership Plan receive:

  • 10% OFF Initial Setup – A one-time discount on the initial security system setup.
  • FREE Battery Replacements – Complimentary replacement of batteries for wireless devices, provided the membership remains active and concurrent.
  • 10% OFF Add-Ons & Upgrades – Discounts on additional security products and system upgrades.
  • Priority Customer Support – Faster response times and prioritised servicing for all support requests.

 

3. Membership Activation, Duration & Concurrent Requirement

  • The membership fee is $99 per year (inclusive of GST).
  • Membership activates immediately upon purchase, and the 10% discount applies at checkout.
  • Membership must be active for at least 12 months before a customer can cancel, unless:
  • The security system is covered under Safety Guard’s 12-month warranty and a warranty claim is made.
  • Concurrent Membership Rule:
  • Free battery replacements are only provided if the membership is active at the time of request.
  • If membership lapses or is cancelled, battery replacement benefits cease immediately.


4. Eligibility & Usage

  • Membership is available to individuals and businesses with a registered Safety Guard security system.
  • Benefits apply only to the registered subscriber and cannot be transferred.
  • Discount exclusions:
  • Service callouts or emergency technician visits.
  • Third-party products not sold by Safety Guard.
  • Installation fees or non-eligible system upgrades.
  • Misuse or fraudulent activity (e.g., sharing membership benefits) may result in immediate termination without refund.


5. Auto-Renewal, Cancellation & Refunds

  • Membership is valid for 12 months and automatically renews unless cancelled before the renewal date.
  • Cancellation Rules:
  • Members cannot cancel within the first 12 months unless making a valid warranty claim under the Safety Guard 12-month product warranty.
  • Cancellation requests must be submitted at least 7 days before renewal.
  • Refunds:
    • No refunds are provided for unused portions of the membership, except as required by the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
    • If Safety Guard discontinues the membership program, prorated refunds will be issued.


6. Consumer Rights & Australian Law Compliance

  • This policy does not override your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
  • Customers are entitled to a refund, replacement, or compensation if services fail to meet expected standards.
  • If a membership benefit becomes unavailable (e.g., supply chain issues for batteries), Safety Guard will offer a comparable alternative or partial refund for the affected benefit.


7. Changes to the Subscription Policy

  • Safety Guard reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the membership program at any time.
  • Members will be notified at least 30 days in advance of any significant changes.
  • Continued use of the membership after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.


8. Liability & Limitations

  • Safety Guard is not liable for:
  • Losses due to power failures, internet outages, or system incompatibilities.
  • Service delays caused by technician unavailability.
  • Free battery replacements are a courtesy service and do not guarantee uninterrupted system operation.
  • Interference from criminal technologies (e.g., RF jammers or cyber-attacks) is not covered under our membership benefits or refund terms.
  • Members should proactively install optional anti-jamming or interference detection modules where available.


9. Privacy & Data Protection

  • Personal information is collected for membership administration, in compliance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
  • Data is never shared with third parties without consent, except as required by law.
  • Customers may request data access or deletion at any time.
